How to keep my paint brush hair from falling out?

I just got some new paint brush. I do acrylic paintings. Anyway, I just got some brushes but I got it on sale and the hair is falling off. I have not used this yet. My teacher told me to soak it in salt water for a while.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm a beginner so share your tips!!How to keep my paint brush hair from falling out?
A good trick I was once told as an apprentice (I was a home painter until last year) was to soak the brushes for a day or two in warm soapy water. Washing up detergent seems to do the trick just fine. Make sure you wash the brushes out well before use.

Good luck ; )How to keep my paint brush hair from falling out?
I would have to question the use of salt water in this instance. Salt water is quite corrosive and will damage things rather quickly. i could not say what it will do to you bristles, but the metal and wood will show signs of deterioration rapidly - especially any finish on the metal. this could lead to rust fast, which will not mix well with your paints.

The bristles are customarily held onto the handle with metal that compresses around them. If you can increase the tension of the metal, the bristles should hold better. perhaps a hammer and small punch would do this for you.

Bristles come out of all paint brushes over time/use. The better brushes retain their bristles longer.
Sometimes you get what you pay for...sorry.

If you're serious about painting, don't buy cheap brushes.

You don't have to buy the most expensive either...somewhere in the middle).

It may cost more in the short term, but will last many years...

cheaper in the long run (and won't ruin your paintings along the way).
They weren't good brushes, so that is why the hair is coming out. Some times you just have to bit the bullet and spend a little more for a good brush.

A good brush if taken care of will last forever.
Glue or just let the paint get hard on the hair. That will keep them from falling out.
no easy fix. buy quality, it will pay off in the long run.
same thing with me
