Brushing hair?

Well I have to do the wife's hair everyday and when I don't do it right (most of the time) she slaps me really hard and won't make me dinner for the next two days, and I really don't like it when she beats me and I have to call my mom to get make me something to eat at night.

Could somone link me to a good site where it shows how to brush long curly hair properly?Brushing hair?
http://free-beauty-tips.glam.com/brushlo/a>

check this out, or check out the next 1:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivorceBrushing hair?
Wacheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

What ever a whip sounds like.

Wow, seriously, I don't think she is that busy that she cant brush her own hair. Learn how to cook. Your mom cooks for you because your wife wont?! Be dependent on yourself too. Wacheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
why cant she brush her own hair, i would tell her to do it, and stop being a baby and cook your own dinner, and just to show her, your more mature than her, cook hers too, if its coz she cant brush the back of it, tell her to cut it all off!
spousal abuse
Why can't she brush her own hair and why can't you cook your own food??

It sounds like you may have some issues. You let your wife abuse you and you have to call your mom to make you dinner?? CALL YOUR MOM?? Are you serious?

How about this... grow some balls and learn how to cook for yourself.
you need directing to a site on divorce rather than brushing hair.
uh.... ure wife sounds a bit of a control freak. anywho, shouldn't ure wife brush her OWN hair? if she can't be bothered to do it herself, that's her problem isn't it? try employing ure own hairdresser that cums 2 ure house ( works 4 me!) also, i would suggest buying a cookery book and learning how 2 make a decent meal, then ure mom doesn't have 2 worry so much.
if this is for real you need to take that brush, give your wife a good whack with it and walk straight out the door, for extra measure you should turn and launch the brush right at her spoiled, ungrateful face. Hope that helps!! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT LIFE!!!!

Brushing hair??

I have really damaged hair, and I read that you should try to brush your hair 100 times a day to get the blood circulating, distribute your natural hair oils and make it more healthier. And you should run your fingers through you hair whenever you can.

But I read somewhere else that brushing will damage and tear damaged hair out, and you should try to avoid it as much as possible.

Which is right? I don't want to make it worse!

ThanksBrushing hair??
Circulation is good...brushing is bad. The best advice is to get the ends trimmed, use a good shampoo and conditioner for your type of hair and drink lots of water.Brushing hair??
brushing your hair a hundred times does cause it to break easier.

try this:

don't wash your hair every day. i know it sounds gross but you want to keep the natural oils on your hair as long as possible to prevent damage.

when you wash: CONDITION! use a comb to comb out your hair and not a brush. prevents breakage

TRIM OFTEN! trust me your ends will look better and your hair grows out better and healthier

if you dye it a lot...try and cut back

try and cut back on hot irons, blow dryers, and curling irons.

you can still brush your hair but it doesn't need to be 100 times a day. brushing will distribute the natural oils much better
keep your hands out of your hair, all the grease and dirt on your hands gets in your hair. don't brush very often, it does cause damage and breakage. what you can do to help your hair oils come back is to only wash it 2-3 times per week, thou you can still condition it. if you have lots of damage, use plenty of conditioner, and don't rinse it out completely when you shower. also, try a leave in conditioner, or deep conditiong treatment to help mend split ends and to help prevent further breakage
Using a detangling paddle brush to brush your scalp AND hair the way to healthy soft shiny hair.

This is why: brushing the scalp stimulates the blood flow and helps to circulate the natural oils on your scalp to the hair shaft. these oils are your body's natural moisturizers that will help to condition your hair when it is dry (or damaged)

take a look at www.raincry.com for more info
I brush my hair everyday and off and on through the day. I have long hair. My hair isnt damaged. Use conditioner in your hair everyday and if your worried about a brush damaging your hair then use a soft bristle brush. I also take a vitamin E pill a day. Its great for the hair, nails and skin.
stop blowdrying for a few days and only wash it every other day, on the off day use a light conditioner. Get a trim to get some of the ends back to health. I don't think brushing a 100 X is good for it.
okii all i know that i use to bruch it many times...but geuss what happends?? it all starts to fall out slowly!!!:O becareful

Brushing hair!?

i have a question, what is the best way, to brush hair, so that it grow's faster? is there any way of growing hair faster?

thanks!Brushing hair!?
i'm not sure brushing hair would really help your hair growth, maybe giving it a good massage with some olive oil will work, i know there's saying that if you brush yoour hair 100 times it grows more but brushing so much can lead to hair damage, so try the scalp massage using the pad of your finger tips.Brushing hair!?
It's all about scalp stimulation!!! Brushing too much can cause lots of damage, so try scalp massages or shampoos and conditioners that smell minty (Paul Mitchell tea tree or nioxin are just a few that come to mind)

Not brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?

Ok, well I am a teen and about 2 months ago I was straightening my hair basically 4 days a week, and brushing my hair right after a shower. Well now, I take a shower and let my hair stay up in a towel un brushed. I have been taking showers before school and then just using mousse to keep it curly. It's easier, and I figure a lot less damage. I see so many teens in my school with damaged hair and it looks so bad. My hair is thick to, and it was starting to get damaged, so is it ok to brush your hair maybe every 4 or 5 days - 2 weeks. What do you think about this? Not brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?
Brushing the hair

◦Brushing the hair with any type of brush whether it's a ball tip or bristol brush actually rips your hair out. Instead of brushing for stimulation try massaging your scalp with your finger tips for 10 minutes. To untangle the hair only use a wide tooth comb. If you are wearing a ponytail or bun style only use a soft boar brush on damp hair and gently smooth down the hair. Never use a brush in dry hairNot brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?
I do the same thing and rarely brush it unless somehow it gets knotty. It is actually better not to brush it my friend hasn't in 2 years but make sure you condition it good. (:
actually i wouldn't brush your hair at all. brushes damage your hair wet or not wet. advice for the future - buy a comb it helps!

Brushing hair?

is it better to brush your hair a lot or less and leave it tangley?Brushing hair?
good conditioner will help to stop tangles... i would say it is best to try and get the tangles out but dont overbrush your hair...Brushing hair?
to brush your hair a few times a day i would say.

But make sure you use a good brush, not one that will pull your hair out and wreck your hair's condition.

Leaving it tangley isn't a good idea.
I use a wide tooth comb on my wet hair and then just brush it when needed. It seems to get too oily if I brush it too much, I guess it depends on what kind of hair you have.
Brushing is good because it spreads the oils through your hair.
BRUSH LOTS, BUT NOT AGGRESSIVELY
people thinks it gross. but as for me. i dont brush my hair that much and its not a tangle mess. Brushing my hair makes it poofy, and i hate poofy. When i take a shower afterwards i dont need to brush.

=]

but as for which ones better.. i have no clue
when i was little my mam used to tell me i had to brush my hair 100 times and makes it healthy, not sure if true but looked nice
Once in the morning and before you go to bed is enough. If you get a knot in your hair in the middle of the day or something brush it, but dont sit hugging your brush all day and brush it every 5 seconds or it will fall out.
LESS!
It is actually best to COMB your hair, using a wide tooth comb. Brushing, especially if you brush your hair while it's wet, causes split ends. Getting a bottle of leave in conditioner is a good idea too. Just spray it on the ends after you wash your hair, then comb your hair out. (You can still use regular conditioner in the shower, too.) Pantene and various other brands have spray on, leave in conditioners. I use Pantene's and it works fine. If you get tangles when you're hair is dry, it's still better to use a wide tooth comb, but you can use a brush, just do it gently. There is no need to constantly brush your hair every chance you get, but there is no need to leave it a tangled mess either. Only comb/brush your hair when it needs it.
well, who wants tangley hair? brush it, but don't brush it so often that you have handfuls of hair in your hairbrush.
well brushing alot damages your hair. and leaving it tangly is not attractive. so brush it, but not alot.
i heard its better to brush! just not in the shower but defiantly brush because it helps the circulation in your head, best time is before going to bed!
put some sugar in water and pour it on
WEll I personally do it once a day only and at night like for 10secs. In the morning I brush it slowly w/out putting too much force. That keeps the hair healthy and soft. Thought yea I brush it smoothly w/time and the whole day it goes fine but at the end of the day I brush it smoothly again and tie up my hair. But I recommend you not to do it a lot cause I have asked a professional hair stylist and she said twice a day is just fine. Brushing it too much can lessen your hair and that isn't something u'll want! =0 HeHeHe
i do not know

Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?

thick bristle brushes are meant to spread oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair.. these are outdated and should not be used often now. they were meant to be used in the old days when bathing was only done once every couple weeks. you can find more information on that all over the web.

most brushes you see nowadays are very comb-like, with sparse bristles made of plastic, these are mainly used to detangle thicker hair.

the thin black combs were in part developed so that men could carry then in their back pockets to fix their hair as needed, and modern wide-toothed combs are very good for combing out wet hair without damaging it. brushes should never ever be used on wet hair.

this site is worth looking at, it goes into depth on each brush and comb and their use.

http://www.mindbodyfocused.com/articles//a>Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?
brushing doesnt get most knats because it has more wide bristles so combing is really used to get out knats and brushing is used to keep hair untangledWhats the diference between combing and brushing hair?
With combing, you use a comb. When you brush hair, you use a hair brush.

Brushing hair (African American)?

I am a little confused on whether brushing ';our'; hair is healthy or unhealthy. I am growing my hair out from a pixie cut, it almost reaches my shoulders. I have started going to a new stylist. She puts a lot of emphasis on brushing the hair. She says that I need to brush my hair eyery day to stimulate my scalp and hair growth. She suggested that I use a brush with kinda hard bristles so that it will stimulate my scalp. I haven't been doing it long enough to tell a difference in growth. Do you ladies brush? Why or why not? What kind of bristles does your brush have?

ThanksBrushing hair (African American)?
Find another hairstylists...quickly. This woman will have you bald-head in a matter of days! Brushing hair actually breaks hair off, far worse than combing does. While stimulating the scalp is conducive to hair growth, brushing hair with HARD bristles can actually scrape and harm your scalp more than anything. Brush hair when necessary and ONLY when necessary. Use a brush with rounded bristles at the end. If you want to stimulate your scalp, massage it with a hot oil treatment.Brushing hair (African American)?
Listen to Carol M and Luminin16, she will have you bald headed in no time. Just take whatever oil you like and mix it with a stimulatin oil like peppermint or tea tree oil and massage your scalp with the balls of your fingers. http://www.growafrohairlong.com tells you everything you need to know about growing african american hair.
I don't usually brush my hair. I massage my scalp with my fingertips making circular and front to back movements. I comb my hair, and I make deep-conditioning treatments every week. Cheers

Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?

Whats the best way to clean/sanitize combs brushes, hair clips, etc..... Also my hair clips are made out of metal.Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?
Cleaner--ShipShape

Sanitizer--Barbicide

At hair supply stores.Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?
rub a cotton ball dipped in alcohol on them. Brushes, if they're natural bristles, wash them in antibacterial soap, or even just regular shampoo.
Well, I've heard that you can boil them... But. I'm not sure. I think if you rinse it in warm soapy water it should sanitize pretty well.
alchole
A container filled with Listerine, or alcohol or san-x any type of liquid cleaner for all the clips and combs hair pins etc... wash your brushes with your shampoo and warm water. If you have a lingerie bag dry them in the dryer. Next time you are at your hairdresser's if you notice most have a container that has just that and they will put the utensils in there after they have used them. You don't have to change the alcohol container until it gets visibly dirty.

Stopped brushing hair?

I did not brush my hair often for about a month and wore it tied back since I have started brushing it and wearing it out I seem to be experiencing massive hair shedding would this just be a back log of hair that shed when i didnt brush itStopped brushing hair?
Yes. Your hair sheds each day. So if you lose say 10 hairs a day, (im just guessing any amount) and you dont brush your hair for a week, when you brush it you will loose 70 hair strands. Thats what my hair dresser said to my mum.Stopped brushing hair?
yea i guess so.. cuz i dont brush my hair either.. lol.
I guess so but why didn't you brush your hair?
yes. Everyone looses a certain amount of hair everyday. You should really brush it everyday to get rid of it. I some times have the same problem. On the weekends I leave my hair in a pony tail and I might not brush it until the next morning and I have a big mess. Especially when I wash it. If I had it up in a pony tail for a day or two. Even if I'm not going to wash it or do anything with it, I will take down the ponytail in the morning and in the evening to brush it to remove the fallen hair. Also as your hair gets longer you will notice it more, because since it is longer you think its more.

Please don't go for a month with out brushing it, it isn't a good thing. Brushing also stimulates the roots and scalp, causing good blood flow and new growth as well as releasing natural oils that help tame those frizzy.
I once got some braids done when I was on vacation, and when I took them out there was so much hair coming out. I freaked out, thinking my hair had been pulled out, but it was really just the hair that normally would have been shed but couldn't come out, and my hair was fine. My guess is that it is normal. Unless you continue to experience a lot of hair shedding for a while and you notice your hair is starting to feel thinner, I wouldn't worry.

how do I brush my hair so that it goes straight? or as straight as possible, I try to brush it down but it ends up going all weird and curling at the bottom.Brushing hair?
The best way to brush your hair without using straightners is to use your brush as you are drying your hair. this will keep your hair straight for ages. its always worked on mineBrushing hair?
well if its that long i put my hand behind my bkand brush from there to get the straight look if yours not that long get some one else to do it
get some straightenrs that what i did now i have great hair, before all my hair did was frizz
Get a straightening iron. And some Loreal Studio Hot Straight Straightening Cream. Can I brush your hair for you...?
If your hair is long enough flick it over so you are looking at the floor and blowdry it that way!!

Or section it and dry one section at a time!!
get the curls cut or buy hair straightening machines.
If your hair is curling up your bottom then your wearing underwear that is too tight for you, I'd recommend boxer shorts.
if you don't want to buy a hair straightener or buy fancy creams get it a little damp with water and put a dime size bit of lotion in the palm of your hand and then rub your hands together so its all over the inside of your hand and then start with the back of your hair on one side of your head and just smooth it through and work up to the top, and do it a few times on both sides. Never start with the top of your hair, it will make it look greasy. After that you can actually use a regular iron that you use to iron cloths with, just lay your hair on it and iron it.. don't hold it in one spot, do it just like you would a thin shirt, or you will burn your hair!
whichever way it curls at the bottom, dry it in the opposite direction, (opposite curl) and because it cant fight the curl, the reverse action actually straightens it.

    christ, did that make sense?
    You need ceramic straightners.
get a wrap. Go to a black hair salon and get a wrap. Your hair will be straight! :) Take it froma sista that does hair all day long!
    brushing aint goin 2 help!
skinhead is best save a fortune on everything
Dude i havent comed or brushed my hair in five years and its as straight as a board
    get some straightening irons....
Put straightening serum in it and continue to brush it as it dries, use straighteners, or grow your hair very long, I just had inches cut off my straight hair and now I have ringlets- I love them!
    embrace your curlyness
You need to blow dry it straight. Just brushing it won't do.

You could buy some Ceramic Straightening Irons , let it dry naturally and then straighten it ..

Make sure you condition your hair to stop the ends drying out.

Mine is Aussie. It's the best stuff in the universe because it includes Alo Vera....which makes you hair like a feather!

Don't worry about brushing your hair too much. I brush mine about 6 times a day and I have no problems at all! ( I think Aussie is the secret lol)
favorite shampoo is dove moisture renewal, fabulous texture. brushing too much is bad because of breakage, it's what leaves you with split ends. twice a day or so is fine, but be gentle, if you feel a tangle, don't just rip at it, brush a few inches from the ends, then a little higher and higher 'til you reaach your scalp
favorite's gotta be aussie, yea my hair is shiny, smooth, and feels soft! i brush my hair all the time, i hope it's ok! but i do know that the little tiny particles of ur hair are actually like fish scales and they face upwards. so when u brush ur hair down it's like rubbing fish scales the other way! eww sounds grose 2 think about it, but i still brush my hair alot, well when its snarly and down.
my favorite shampoo is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration and it makes my hair feel great. I never damage my hair (no blow drying, straightener, curling) and i always get compliments. i brush my hair about twice a day, sometimes 3 times, and it still keeps healthy
Yes it's safe to brush your hair. They recommend you do so you can bring the natural oils from your scalp down through your hair.
My favorite shampoo is loreal paris vive pro ';for normal to fine hair'; yes it leaves my hair soft, shiny %26amp; smooth! =]

%26amp; brushing your hair TOO much can make it fall out,but not all your hair thats just a myth.

    Nail polish brush hairs?

I cleaned my nails and made sure there was no nail polish on my nails, but everytime i polish them, I get these hairs from the brush, what can i do?Nail polish brush hairs?
is the nail polish old? sometimes the brushes will start loosing hairs after a few months.

the best thing you can do is to buy some good quality nail polish (opi, nails inc, loreal etc) and keep it in the fridge (this stops it going all thick and gloopy). if you do this you shouldnt have any more problems.

    hope this helps : )

    Brushing hair at night?

I read that it stimulates the oils in the hair or something and that it's good but I've also read that its bad, My dad told me to do and I want to know if it is good or bad and whyBrushing hair at night?
Honestly, i don't listen to whats considered 'good' or 'bad' when it comes to my hair. I do what works for me cuz honestly, everyone is different. I brush my hair whenever it looks like it needs it... simple as that!Brushing hair at night?
Well, I'm not sure about the oil thing, but brushing is good, you want to get rid of all the dead and loose hair that you've lost during the day. I always wash and brush before bed.
brushing your hair actually stimulates the cells, this way your hair will grow more and it feels good anyhow. Brushing isnt bad at all.
    Its good
STOP!!!! Brushing your hair will cause the hair to stretch and snap. Message your scalp with the balls of your fingers. This will help the blood to circulated which stimulates the hair follicles this will promote hair growth.
    It depends,just dont overbrush.
The more you brush your hair, the more breakage and split ends you're likely to see. Rather than extra brushing, if your hair is dry, skip washing it a couple of times a week. (You can still rinse it in the shower, and you can still condition it, just don't shampoo every day.) Also, you can try a deep conditioner once a week or so.
i say.. brush away whenever your hair looks like it needs to be brushed..... HOWEVER never brush your hair when its wet... i know everyone says its easier to brush and get the knots out when its wet but it actualy damaged ur hair more if you brush it while its wet. Also be sure to wash your brush at least once a week with hot water and even a little soap to get rid of all the extra oil that gets on it from your hair.
its actually not good to brush ur hair a lot but then again u do need to keep the knots out ((duh))
I wouldn't over-rush it. But try a boar bristle brush. It does evenly dstribute oil.

Brushing hair when it is wet? :S?

Heyyy... I know your not suppose to brush your hair when its wet, but how do you detangle it then, and put in a parting so it dries nicely?!

Would it be okey to use a wide tooth comb?

Thanks! xxxBrushing hair when it is wet? :S?
use a detangler and a wide tooted comb, as the person posted first and to get a good parting use a thing toothed comb to make it really good!

Hope this helps!Brushing hair when it is wet? :S?
if you put conditioner in your hair to make it soft i find you dont have to brush my hair when its wet but if i do i make sure i use a wide tooth comb to prevent my hair scretching and breaking also if you put serum at the end of my hair after ive brushed it when its wet it prevents split ends but yeh if your using a wide tooth comb on wet hair your doin the best for your hair :) x
i brush my hair when it is wet and it is still healthy. also, i don't have split ends or anything. i havnt even gotten a haircut in over a year. lol

don't brush it too much, but if you need to detangle or part it, go for it! it won't hurt it! :)
Yeah you should use a wide toothed comb to get the tangles out. If your hair is really knotty then use a detangler or some more conditioner when you wash it.

    =)
There's nothing wrong with brushing your hair when wet! It actually helps you go get all the tangles out, and when try you would have to use ur time.
I just comb my hair out in the shower when it has conditioner on :) my hairs thick and frizzy so if i comb it when its wet its goes POOOOFYY! lol xx
ya its fine to use a wide tooth comb just dnt brush it it damages ur hair

You can brush them. I have a hair extensions brush which I use on mine, from my days of having glued on extensions. You can get them from most hairdressers. Or you can just use a normal comb, and gently brush from the ends to the tops.Brushing hair extensions?

you can so brush hair extensions

    of course you can!

Does brushing hair while wet damage it?

yes it doesDoes brushing hair while wet damage it?
No and Yes. It depends how hard you're brushing. If your carefully it shouldn't be too much. But there could be more damage/breakage since it's wet and probably a little tangled. I would go a little more slowly but hair is still going to fall/break anyway but nothing drastic!

Hope I answered your question! :)Does brushing hair while wet damage it?
YES YES YES! IT KILLS YOUR HAIR! your hair is weaker when its wet and brushing it will break the stands which will lead to split ends, and nasty hair.

don't listen to that girl who said no, because it soooo does!

always use a pick on your hair after you wash it. pick out the tangles working from the ends of your hair to the top.
yes! if you use a regular brush. wet hair is weaker than dry, so the brush teeth pull at the knots until your hair falls out! (just a little sarcastic on that.) to brush your hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb!
Yes, because you get more breakage from the little knots being made while brushing your hair. You can use a wide tooth comb to comb your hair instead while your hair is wet, it won't damage it as much.
Yes! It creates split ends because you're combing through the hair when its most fragile(wet), and it tears through your strong hair strands. But if you use a wide toothed comb, it reduces the damage(just brush gently).
Everybody says it does, but I do it every night and I've noticed no damage. If you use a paddle brush it turns out really nicely when it drys.
it will not damage your hair

however it's much better for hair to use a comb.
Yes of course! It can break your hair, making it weak and fall out.
    I dont think so.
    no

Does brushing hair make it grow???? ?

no, and over brushing it can damage it more. you can take a multi vitamin, or even pre-natal vitamins (they will not affect your birth control any, they are simply vitamins) to help advance hair and nail growth/health.Does brushing hair make it grow???? ?
    old wive's tale.

brushing too much would just cause

breakage and damage which stop your hair

    from growing.

    tips:

    - use conditioner daily and shampoo 3-4 times weekly

    - use a deep conditioner

    - trim off split ends

    - use a leave in anti-split ends protector on the ends of your hair

    - brush in the conditioner in the shower

    - detangle knots still while the conditioner is in with a comb

    - rinse conditioner out with cold water

    - don't heat style excessively

    - drink water

    - use a hot oil treatment once a week

hair grows around 1/2 and inch a month.

so in one year, that's around 6 inches.
i can help to stimulate your scalp but it will grow at the same rate as everyone else.

    this is a myth really.

it duz keep your hair shiney, i really would suggest only to brush hair when its wet or it can damage hair and may effect it growing.

also take the supplement selenium and perfectil which promotes hair growth and nails too.
Yes and no. Brushing no. Combing yes. Using a large tooth comb will stimulate hair growth. Brushing is harder on the hair and tends to damage.

however if you want long hair here are things you can do to it:

    http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Hair-Gr/a>
Be logical really, when you brush your hair, strands are pulled and comes out. Like seriously people! You read one thing and all of a sudden it's what everyone believes.

It you want hair growth, massage scalp.
ha..No. Not true. Brushing your hair actually gives you split ends..Damages it more then anything.
no, it makes it greecey dont try it

If you're authentically worried, clear your brush and count the new-ly lost hairs daily. If you have longer hair 20-30 strands, normal *low* daily loss, will look like a *lot*.

Hair also grows faster in the Spring and Summer.

Again, if you're authentically worried, finger-comb your hair first, saving strands for counting and don't brush your scalp, just the ends while you firmly grasp areas of hair with the other hand, so you minimize tugging on the hair roots.Brushing hair and hair loss?
Yes. Most people lose 100-200 hairs per day, and most of that lands in the brush. Nothing to worry about. =)
hair loss is normal for people, your hair folical can probably grow around 20 more times after they lost thier first hair, so don't worry about it, if it become serious, you can go see a doctor and see what caused the hairloss and eliminate the source.
