a few hours after getting my hair permed, i brushed it (not too hard) to untangle some of the curls and i'm worried that it will undo the perm. is it possible or will the curls bounce back after i wash it? and how long should i wait to perm my hair? some people say 24 hours and some people say up to 3 days!!
thank you!Is it ok to brush hair that has recently been permed?
Old wives tales. The perm will stick no matter what.Is it ok to brush hair that has recently been permed?
Your permanent wave is permanent, once the bonds are broken ( with the first solution) and then hardened around the rods ( with the second solution) your hair structure is permanently changed. The condition of your hair determines how that change will last. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and a spray leave-in conditioner before any product. It will not weigh your hair down. You should wash 24 hours after, 3 days was the suggested time for products in the 80';s. Once your hair has air oxidized, meaning reset the hydrogen bond by drying completely, its a done deal. Until it grows out and gets cut off.
Hi, when you perm your hair you should never use a brush cause it will break off the hair you should always use a wide tooth comb or pick on hair. Curly hair is very dry so it need moisture all the time and use a leave-in-conditioner to keep the curls moist and you can wash your hair after 24 hrs. shampoos and conditioners for curly hair plus a leave-in conditioner and wide tooth comb or pick air dry and fluff with fingers blow dry always use a diffuser on dryer this drys the hair gently and stops the frizz and once again use your fingers to arrange the curls and depending how fast your hair grows will depend on when you should get other perm.
It wont wreck the perm to brush it, but you may just want to use a pick for a few day, and a comb to de-tangle when your hair is wet. Dont shampoo your hair for about 3 days after perming, but be sure to condition your hair! If you dont condition it your hair will be very ery dry, and it will look horrible. Good Luck, and Enjoy your perm.
