I took my dog to a new groomer the other day, and they cut his hair shorter than usual. After I picked him up, he acted strange. He only wanted to lay in his kennel or on the couch, he wasn't interested in going out to the bathroom or even coming out of his kennel. Is this normal behavior? He's never done this before.Do dogs get embarrassed after getting a shorter hair cut?
He was probably just not happy about going to the groomer. If it were a new groomer I wonder if she drugged him to keep him calmer?
I hope they aren't embarrassed about a short cut. I just had my goldens shaved for summer.Do dogs get embarrassed after getting a shorter hair cut?
Aww.. poor little guy. Dogs have feelings to, and just like when you get a bad haircut you feel like a pud, so does your dog. Probably in a couple days he will get over it, but until then you should console him and tell him he is beautiful, and that all the other dogs are jealous. If he is still being lazy after a couple days, maybe the haircut was a coincidence, and he is actually feeling sick. Just keep an eye for him. Good luck.
No they can't! lol! That's another reason they are different from humans! Maybe they cut it TO short and accidentally hurt him! Check every inch of his body for cuts or scrapes. If he has any then get a band-aid some antiseptic gel and put that on the band-aid then put the band-aid on him!
Good luck!
Dogs don't think like that. They don't know how to be ';embarrassed'; Sounds like he had a bad experience with the new groomer. You may want to call and ask if anything unusual happened when your dog was in their care.
pet pychics ...bahhhaaahhhhaaaaaa!
well as i have a dog that can speak to me well i believe it can anyway and its cos the hair hides their weener and when u cut it the ladies can see it..which in turn no gf....which in turn no sex....which therefore creates depression
My opinion is that they absolutely do feel embarrased if they look silly. My dog used to check himself out in the mirror all the time. And he had a favorite bandana that he liked to wear.
I think they do. One of our dogs growing up always acted shy when we got her shaved. She would hide for a couple days until we started telling her how ';pretty'; she was and then she was her usual self.
rofl...just the question is hilarious...i dunno though its possible but probably something else, maybe the new groomer did something to him he didnt like
My mutt ';Hairy'; is always hiding for the first two days after his annual early summer clipping... but he gets used to it in a day or two- praise and extra attention help
Dogs have feeling like us. Yes they can become embarrassed after getting a hair cut.
Pet psychics say they do.
