Don't know which short hair cut to get for basic?

Okay, I know hair cannot extend below the collar of the uniform, and bangs may not proceed below your eye brows. I have long hair, past my shoulders, and I want to get a short hair cut, to make it easier on myself during basic. Problem is, I haven't a clue on which one to get, and which one is 'appropriate' so I was wondering if you can help me:

Hard to say because obviously your hair won't be styled that much. I would go with number 2. Just remeber cut it early so you get used to it.

The regulations you are refering to don't come in to play when you go to basic lol. When you get to reception, the barbers cut all of your hair off no matter what you want. Sorry :( I felt bad for the guys in my company.

I hate to tell you this when you go in they will cut it the way they want. After you get out of Basic you can change it to what you want as long as it will pass inspection.
Okay so other people are saying when you get there they will automatically cut your hair how they want it. NOT true. I've had two female friends that have gone through basic (one at each of the female bct's) and they both came home with their long hair still intact. They just pinned theirs up while they were there. It's not true that they will cut it there. The guys get their heads shaved.

I'm currently 23yrs old, as my hair is getting pretty long and I feel it makes me look younger than i am. Therefore, I want to get a shorter hair cut to make me look older/mature. I am not a fan of kate's hair, it is much too long on that one side and that spike of hair sticking up in the back looks ridiculous. I am a hairdresser and nobody comes in asking for kate's hair, i have heard plenty of jennifer aniston cut and demi moore
actually i love it on kate. i wouldnt get it myself, but somehow i think she pulls it off.

and it depends on your facial features, but you def. have a capability of pulling it off, so thats a good thing =] if it can look good on kate, it can look good on others

I got my hair cut short and it was the worst thing ever. If u r bored with ur hair try some new styles like straightening it or curling it or putting it in braids or fun ponys. You can get some layers too, to mix it up a little. Good luck!

Short hair cut?

I'm 16 years old to be 17 in april. i had super long hair just a couple months ago, had about a foot taken off and donated, got my hair styled and it grew out in a few weeks. my hair grows really fast. i liked getting rid of a lot of my hair. its easier to deal with and move around and i have heard that if you get your hair cut short then it takes longer to grow. obviously it will take longer to grow back out, but i mean it takes longer to grow at all. is this true? i really want to get my hair cut short, but i don't want to get a style that is too old for me. meaning that i'm not looking to look all grown up cuz im not yet and i like it that way. then again i don't want to look younger either. i need some opinions. i believe i have an oval face. a couple of sites say that it's oblong. it's not round, but it's not really long either. i also have medium thick hair. so would these cuts be right for me?Short hair cut?

biotin helps hair growth, also main n tail shampoo but that's mostly for damaged hair to make it thicker and healthier. you can't. I'm sorry. But go to a different hair dresser, and tell them you want rid of the bowl cut. even it if takes longer for it to grow back out at least you won't have a bowl cut.
for the time being, i would recommend getting a buzz-cut or something similar to that, and just wait for it to grow back.
just shave off the sides and do a mohawk. or if you really want your long hair back, take some hair and nail supplements from a health store... it should help your hair grow faster.
use mane and tail shampoo... originally designed for horses but will make the hair grow quicker.
shave ur head bald if its that bad. then use a shiny wax so ppl can see there reflections

I am thinking about donating to locks of love. But I have NEVER cut my hair that short, and i am getting kind of scared. hey!! i've had this problem before, too. my hair was WAYY past my shoulders and I needed it cut!! it went to my shoulders after it got cut. i suggest you get layers (which is VERY in rite now and cute too!) or you can always cut it EVEN SHORTER and get a pixie cut! (it's very very cute and awesome looking too....you can spike it up in the back too with some gel, and still have bangs and straightness in the front!) you can also keep it no style, but add over the forehead bangs....they are SUPER awesome, and very very fashionable. Locks of love would be a really great thing to do. Talk with your hair stylist they will give you a hair cut to suit you face. Remember if you don't like your hair cut Its only hair you will grow it back.
you're doing it for a good cause go for it!! it depends on the shape of yourface and what would be good for you, talk to a professional and ask them what would match your face. we woudlnt know how you would look good without a picture.

HORRIBLE short hair cut...what can I do?

I got my hair cut yesterday and my hair dresser chopped my once long hair to a little below my chin. The ends look thick and bushy and uneven. There are tiny short layers all over my head and they're sticking straight up. She also cut bangs that I DID NOT ask for...they are straight across my forehead and uneven.



I've tried blow drying it, straightening it....nothing works....I cant even put it up in a pony tail.

Well... try straightening but not big chunks, straighten tiny strands at a time, and as you do, curve towards your chin so it will curve inward instead of poofing out. If the bangs would not be too short, you could have someone, family or friend, or even you if you could do a good job, even them out. You could use clips to put the bangs off to the side. Oh! A very good hairstyle for me is the half up half down. Comb the top as if you are going to do a ponytail, but only take about 2/5 of the hair, and put it in a ponytail, and leave the bottom half down. Then straighten the part that is not in the ponytail very well so that it looks thinner. Or else you could to go to a different salon and ask to get it thinned.
Depending on how short your hair is and how the bangs are you might want to try a cute short haircut which is the ';A Line'; it's very cute and can be a semi short haircut or a extremely short hair cut but its in style and it is very cute! OMG! i have been there, exept it was worse! me and my bff thought it would be fun to give me a scene haircut, my hair was REALLLY long

then we cut short layers like a guys hair allll over and i had a thhhiiiin layer of my long hair,, ok not a good idea, anyways, my short layers used to stick up too but, the only thing you can do is let it grow, where it natural, clip your bangs back as best you can and try to be positive about it. i cried wayy to long over my hair ohhh, you can also take some hair vitamins- haha thats what im taking now:) orr you can think out your hair way more than get some gooood extensions!
As scary as this sounds, you might have to cut it off shorter or get your ends thinned out, Is your hair naturally thick and coarse? If so, then they can take the bulk out from your ends so they are less bushy and more smooth. There are special thinning shears used for this or sometimes the ends can be razor-ed off. I don't see why a straightening iron wouldn't smooth it out and make it flat. Are you it's not beause you're just freaking out that it was such a drastic change?
id cut it again. not alot. you should try to get a wedge hair cut. thats the style where its longer in the front and shorter in the back. that looks really cute. and you can also get your bangs cut again. most bangs can also be full bangs across your forehead, or can be turned into side bangs. you can also pin your bangs back with clips.

This may sound weird but get your hair cut agian. TO fix your bangs. and you can fix the ends by not blow drying it. Use wax or gel or curl them inwards. So it looks like a style. If you think your hair is bad then eveyone else will agree. If you thinks its perfect they will too. Just dable in your hair
Dont stress it, maybe spend a little more time on your outfit %26amp; fashion, %26amp; that will distract people from looking at it all the time. People will be saying ';Awhh she has adorable shoes'; instead of ';eww look @ her hair'; It will all grow back. Maybe try coloring it ?
yess. go to the hair stylist and ask them to thin it out. maybe your hairs too thick.



as for the bangs..

pin them in a bumo or to the side. if they are long enough swoop em'



and maybe don't blow dry.. it dries out your hair and causes frizz.
