Are Vidal Sassoon hair straighteners good??

I just bought it for like $10 from WalMart. It's gold plated. I opened it already so I can't return it but how long do they last? Are Vidal Sassoon hair straighteners good??
My friend said that it lasted a long time!

Why won't my brand new VIDAL SASSOON hair clippers cut?

I just bought them...opened, inspected, I didn't oil them...cause I figured they come rdy for atleast one use....and well it cut maybe 3% of my entire hair...and I have been running the clippers over my head without any attachments for atleast 10 min..with minimal hair falling off I am not kidding like maybe 3% of the hair came off...has this ever happened to anyone else? Any suggestions before I go into walmart with like a small patch of hair missing...to return them?

These are them:

Has anyone used Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration IONIC Steam Belly Rollers?

or Vidal Sassoon - Hair Hydration Moisture Protection Steam Rollers?

If so which one is better and is it better than the Caruso SalonPro 30 Molecular Steam Hairsetter which got great ratings except for the fact that it crapped out within months.

Or is there any other Steam Setters/Rollers out there in the market that works great.

My hair is thick and straight and I like it curly, but don't want to damage it too much and I've read steam setters will not damage your hair, so if anyone has used any of the above or have any suggestions that would be great!

Thanks in advance!Has anyone used Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration IONIC Steam Belly Rollers?
I haven't tried those steam rollers, but the Caruso rollers are popular. Steam rollers are great because they are very gentle on your hair %26amp; the curl is very long lasting.

  • Vidal Sassoon Hair straightners, are they any good?

Ideally i would love a pair of ghds, i know their the best. Im on budget so i have to make do with something i can afford for the time being...

http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/025786/a>Vidal Sassoon Hair straightners, are they any good?
I had those exact same ones, they work great. Mine lasted about a year, but lately they were over heating so I took them back and got a refund :)Vidal Sassoon Hair straightners, are they any good?
    i have vidal sasson and they work great ,, mine was 10 dollars =D{

i had a gvp ,, they are compare to the chi , and they dont work good ,, and a corioliss and the vidal sasson works better than those
noooo mine broke after like 6 weeks, they are really shitty

Are vidal sassoon hair straighteners good?

i have one . i love it .Are vidal sassoon hair straighteners good?
I used to have a Vidal Sassoon (I have a GHD now) and I've got really thick hair and I actually thought it was a pretty good straightener considering how cheap it is. =]Are vidal sassoon hair straighteners good?
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

dont waste your money. if your hair is thicker then thread then theyre crap. they make your hair dull, not even straight and are very damaging.

    Yes
    yes

Are vidal sassoon hair tousled wavers any good?

i want to buy once off ebay because i want loose waves -like beach style waves but i dont know if they have more of a tightly crimped effect(like the zig-zag, frizzy crimp from the 90's)Are vidal sassoon hair tousled wavers any good?
I'm not sure if vidal sassoon hair tousled wavers are any good but you could make those beach waves from a straightener aswell, put the straightener in horizontally then turn in 180 degrees and pull a little bit then turn out 180 degrees and pull, repeat this until you get to the end. At the end you can either turn it again or straighten out the end a little.

If you don't understand me, which I don't really myself, you could try youtube on videos to make beach like waves. OR you can buy the wavers, try it out and don't dump anything, if you don't like it then you can return it, but make sure to check the return policy!!!!

    I hope that helped!!!!

Is a Vidal Sassoon hair straightener from Wal-Mart for $10.00 a good choice?

or should I invest in something else?Is a Vidal Sassoon hair straightener from Wal-Mart for $10.00 a good choice?
no, i bought one beacuse someone said it was good and it sucks. Is a Vidal Sassoon hair straightener from Wal-Mart for $10.00 a good choice?
I use Revlon flat iron. You can get out of the shower and use it right away instead of a blow drier. It even turns off if it sees your not using it after a while.I paid a little more but it goes from wet to straight and sometimes I don't feel like blow drying.I heard the best product to use is the Maxi glide they have on tv.It's like $99 dollar though. For that much it better grow a hand and do it for me lol.If it's 10 it doesn't sound like it's going to do much.Mine is like $19.99.Good luck and don't forget to deep condition!!
    invest in something else.

unless you have super thin hair.

vidal sassoon sucks on anything but super thin hair
No because its not worth it. I bought one like the one your talking about and it took 6 minutes to heat up, it didnt even get that hot, and it didnt work that well because ive got superthick hair. You get what you pay for. Invest in a different brand thats a little more expensive.
I have a con-air that dries and straightens at the same time....VERY convenient
I'm sorry to say it but you should probably invest in something more expensive live a chi or something because a lot of the time a cheap one will fry your hair and most of the time they either break or stop working after about a week.
try a chi, it price is about 100$-200$ but it is worth it. but do not buy it from eBay those are the ones that the people buy and something happen to it and they send it back to chi company and chi company fix it and sell it to vendors and vendors sell it on eBay. try buying it out one of salon stores in the mall are maybe a local Sally's beauty stores
yes I have that and it has lasted for a year
CHI is the greatest straightener! I just got mine and I will not use anything else Yes it was expensive but it was well worth it. Try ebay you could get it cheaper!
Go to Sally Beauty and Supply and get a ceramic flat iron. Get one in the 30 dollar range though.

Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration Digital Straightener?

I have naturally curly hair. The only time it has ever been straight was when the hairdresser done it using GHD's. Would my hair be straight using these straighteners or do I have to get the GHD's for best results? Thanks!Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration Digital Straightener?
GHDs always give the best results no matter what sort of hair you have, definitely worth buying! :)

Don't use eBay as the cheap ones all come from China and are fake, your salon should sell them or go to GHDhair.com and do store locator for your area :)Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration Digital Straightener?
I recommend a 'relaxer' treatment - like a reverse perm. Then buy the straighteners and simply take them back as 'unfit for purpose' if you are not happy with them. Use your statutory rights.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

  • Does anyone else own a Vidal Sassoon hair straightening iron, and if so, is it good?

I do. I have the black one. It is decent because you can control the heat setting, and it is inexpensive. I also had the Revlon one with the heat setting control dial. I believe the Revlon iron broke the front of my hair.

I just ordered a Chi flat iron. It was expensive. I have not tried it yet but I heard it doesn't pull at the hair. The one I ordered also has heat control (very important). Also, invest in a heat protectant spray. I just bought the Nexxus one. Hoping the front of my hair doesn't break again!Does anyone else own a Vidal Sassoon hair straightening iron, and if so, is it good?
the Chi flat iron is really good.Does anyone else own a Vidal Sassoon hair straightening iron, and if so, is it good?
i wouldn't go for the Vidal Sassoon as they don't last very long. go for something ceramic and spend that little extra to ensure a good pair of straighteners and better results

Im going to buy a vidal sassoon hair straighterners but should i?

    you should get a CHI.

Is Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration Digital Straightener good?

Look for a hair straightener that is either entirely ceramic, or has at least ceramic plates. Those are the only ones that are beneficial to your hair. Do not get the ones that supposedly dry your hair from being completley wet. Those ruin your hair. The metal plates to as well.Is Vidal Sassoon Hair Hydration Digital Straightener good?
    ya.

Has anyone used a Revlon or Vidal Sassoon hair straightener?

What is your experience with the two brands? Which is better?

(By any chance, has anyone used the Revlon wet and set hair straightener?)Has anyone used a Revlon or Vidal Sassoon hair straightener?
I have never tried the wet to straight flat iron, but I know they are NOT good for your hair at all. Hair is most vulnerable to damage %26amp; heat when it is wet, %26amp; no matter how a straightener is advertised, even if it says it works great on wet hair, it will RUIN YOUR HAIR %26amp; give you tons of split ends, as well as rough, dry, tangled strands. I have tried a Revlon %26amp; it didn't work too well. I have thick, soft, shoulder length wavy hair, %26amp; it is in good condition but Revlon did not keep it straight at all. It stayed straight for literally 15 minutes before I saw my waves again. My friend, who has thick curly long hair uses the vidal sassoon %26amp; her hair looks amazing every morning. I've never used it, so I wouldn't know, but judging by my friend's hair, I'd say the vidal sassoon works pretty well. As with any flat iron though, make sure you use hair products such as heat protectants. I highly recommend Tresemme Heat Tamer %26amp; tresemme Anti-Frizz Secret. They work to keep your hair straight %26amp; protected from heat, as well as reduce flyaways %26amp; frizz. Happy Straightening!Has anyone used a Revlon or Vidal Sassoon hair straightener?
I used to have a couple of pairs pf vidal sassoon ones. They were part of the pro-elite collection and they are really good for people who have really thin hair.
'Wet and set' or 'wet to dry' hair straighteners crap out on people all the time. They do dry your hair but your hair is never 'straight' so I wouldn't waste your time. I have a Revlon and it had the black panels, but gold is good too. Vidal Sassoon is 'ok' but not so great... I guess it might depend. i really love Revlons, but you don't want the small ones unless you have thin hair... or if you have a lot of time to straighten your hair. If you want quick straight hair then use a Revlon, I have one and it's really good... give it a chance and let me know how ya like it. Good luck! =]
I've used both, I prefer the Vidal Sassoon flat iron, the wet and set doesn't do so well, I usually have to use that and then go over it again with the sassoon straightner.

I have a vidal sassoon hair straightener that wasn't very expensive and it works really well for me. It does make my hair a bit frizzy with fly aways ect but most hair straighteners do. For the price of the hair straightener it is very good quality, it lasted three years.
If you have already straight hair, then it will probably work fine. But the expensive ones really are worth it and will last longer and not damage your hair as much. (Though you should still use a heat protectant)

Black Sophisticates Hair (something like that) puts out editions dedicated to natural hair, but they don't come out often, maybe like four times a year or less. The last issue I bought had Janet Jackson on the cover and covered different natural hairstyles, including with or without extensions, and celebs with natural hair. I don't know if there are any after that, though, because I haven't checked.Hello everyone R there any natural hair magazines for african american women tips on hair care and styles plz?
That's a very interesting question...I would try looking in Essence magazine although I its more of a glitz/ African American celebrity type of magazine. I don't know of any but I do know of a couple of websites where women of color discuss hair care that might be helpful for you (also check out youtube...they have a lot of videos of African American women demonstrating how they take care of their hair texture).

Why do Hair Magazines cost so much? Not the cheap ones in the drugstores and Walmarts.?

I am talking about the ones sold in Salons and Hair Stores. For books about styling dreadlocks... they cost $30. Whew! That's too much. And you can't even look at them for too long without getting a dirty look. Why do Hair Magazines cost so much? Not the cheap ones in the drugstores and Walmarts.?
Because they are specialty magazines designed for professionals. Because of that, the circulation is lower, while the costs are probably higher due to the better quality of paper used. For professional stylists, the price can be deducted on their income tax since it's business related. Why do Hair Magazines cost so much? Not the cheap ones in the drugstores and Walmarts.?
...smaller circulation, less advertisers paying for the magazine, more cost passed on to you.

I think it really depends on the magazine.

Usually, there is a number, adress, or a way to contact them near the back of the book. But that's only for some cases.

If you can find a way to contact them, send them a letter or talk to them over the phone with all of your questions.

That to me is the best way, because then you know exactly how a certain magazine would like your submissions, or if they even allow any.

I think most of those hairstyle magazines fall under one publishing company. Sometimes I see the same picture in several different ones. Try to see if you can get a job at one or any other type of magazine, and you will learn how a magazine works so later on you can start your own.

Check with local agencies in your area. They'll be able to give you the best advice about how to get your foot in the door with those magazines. You'll want to make sure this is the way to do it also, so that you aren't ripped off due to the lack of an agent. They (whoever you decide to visit) don't necessarily need to represent you, but they'll be able to tell you who can. Good luck! How do I become a model for a black hair magazine?

I have just had my hair cut to like the latest fashion and i really want it in a hair magazine, how do i do this? How do you get your face in a hair magazine?
A lot of the time people get into hair magazines because of the stylist they use. Most of the time the magazines approach the stylists/salons to feature in their magazines.

My word of advice is to go to a book store/grocery store and get the names of the style magazines. From there either look through them and see if they have information about submitting or try to contact them directly.

One thing to remember there are 100's if not 1000's of people doing this a day it is not guaranteed to get you in.How do you get your face in a hair magazine?

    Wacheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

What ever a whip sounds like.

Wow, seriously, I don't think she is that busy that she cant brush her own hair. Learn how to cook. Your mom cooks for you because your wife wont?! Be dependent on yourself too. Wacheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
why cant she brush her own hair, i would tell her to do it, and stop being a baby and cook your own dinner, and just to show her, your more mature than her, cook hers too, if its coz she cant brush the back of it, tell her to cut it all off!
    spousal abuse
Why can't she brush her own hair and why can't you cook your own food??

It sounds like you may have some issues. You let your wife abuse you and you have to call your mom to make you dinner?? CALL YOUR MOM?? Are you serious?

How about this... grow some balls and learn how to cook for yourself.
you need directing to a site on divorce rather than brushing hair.
uh.... ure wife sounds a bit of a control freak. anywho, shouldn't ure wife brush her OWN hair? if she can't be bothered to do it herself, that's her problem isn't it? try employing ure own hairdresser that cums 2 ure house ( works 4 me!) also, i would suggest buying a cookery book and learning how 2 make a decent meal, then ure mom doesn't have 2 worry so much.
if this is for real you need to take that brush, give your wife a good whack with it and walk straight out the door, for extra measure you should turn and launch the brush right at her spoiled, ungrateful face. Hope that helps!! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT LIFE!!!!

    Brushing hair??

I have really damaged hair, and I read that you should try to brush your hair 100 times a day to get the blood circulating, distribute your natural hair oils and make it more healthier. And you should run your fingers through you hair whenever you can.

But I read somewhere else that brushing will damage and tear damaged hair out, and you should try to avoid it as much as possible.

Which is right? I don't want to make it worse!

    ThanksBrushing hair??
Circulation is good...brushing is bad. The best advice is to get the ends trimmed, use a good shampoo and conditioner for your type of hair and drink lots of water.Brushing hair??
brushing your hair a hundred times does cause it to break easier.

    try this:

don't wash your hair every day. i know it sounds gross but you want to keep the natural oils on your hair as long as possible to prevent damage.

when you wash: CONDITION! use a comb to comb out your hair and not a brush. prevents breakage

TRIM OFTEN! trust me your ends will look better and your hair grows out better and healthier

if you dye it a lot...try and cut back

try and cut back on hot irons, blow dryers, and curling irons.

you can still brush your hair but it doesn't need to be 100 times a day. brushing will distribute the natural oils much better
keep your hands out of your hair, all the grease and dirt on your hands gets in your hair. don't brush very often, it does cause damage and breakage. what you can do to help your hair oils come back is to only wash it 2-3 times per week, thou you can still condition it. if you have lots of damage, use plenty of conditioner, and don't rinse it out completely when you shower. also, try a leave in conditioner, or deep conditiong treatment to help mend split ends and to help prevent further breakage
Using a detangling paddle brush to brush your scalp AND hair the way to healthy soft shiny hair.

This is why: brushing the scalp stimulates the blood flow and helps to circulate the natural oils on your scalp to the hair shaft. these oils are your body's natural moisturizers that will help to condition your hair when it is dry (or damaged)

take a look at www.raincry.com for more info
I brush my hair everyday and off and on through the day. I have long hair. My hair isnt damaged. Use conditioner in your hair everyday and if your worried about a brush damaging your hair then use a soft bristle brush. I also take a vitamin E pill a day. Its great for the hair, nails and skin.
stop blowdrying for a few days and only wash it every other day, on the off day use a light conditioner. Get a trim to get some of the ends back to health. I don't think brushing a 100 X is good for it.
okii all i know that i use to bruch it many times...but geuss what happends?? it all starts to fall out slowly!!!:O becareful

    Brushing hair!?

i have a question, what is the best way, to brush hair, so that it grow's faster? is there any way of growing hair faster?

    thanks!Brushing hair!?
i'm not sure brushing hair would really help your hair growth, maybe giving it a good massage with some olive oil will work, i know there's saying that if you brush yoour hair 100 times it grows more but brushing so much can lead to hair damage, so try the scalp massage using the pad of your finger tips.Brushing hair!?
It's all about scalp stimulation!!! Brushing too much can cause lots of damage, so try scalp massages or shampoos and conditioners that smell minty (Paul Mitchell tea tree or nioxin are just a few that come to mind)

Not brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?

Ok, well I am a teen and about 2 months ago I was straightening my hair basically 4 days a week, and brushing my hair right after a shower. Well now, I take a shower and let my hair stay up in a towel un brushed. I have been taking showers before school and then just using mousse to keep it curly. It's easier, and I figure a lot less damage. I see so many teens in my school with damaged hair and it looks so bad. My hair is thick to, and it was starting to get damaged, so is it ok to brush your hair maybe every 4 or 5 days - 2 weeks. What do you think about this? Not brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?
    Brushing the hair

◦Brushing the hair with any type of brush whether it's a ball tip or bristol brush actually rips your hair out. Instead of brushing for stimulation try massaging your scalp with your finger tips for 10 minutes. To untangle the hair only use a wide tooth comb. If you are wearing a ponytail or bun style only use a soft boar brush on damp hair and gently smooth down the hair. Never use a brush in dry hairNot brushing hair everyday. Is this ok?
I do the same thing and rarely brush it unless somehow it gets knotty. It is actually better not to brush it my friend hasn't in 2 years but make sure you condition it good. (:
actually i wouldn't brush your hair at all. brushes damage your hair wet or not wet. advice for the future - buy a comb it helps!

    Brushing hair?

is it better to brush your hair a lot or less and leave it tangley?Brushing hair?
good conditioner will help to stop tangles... i would say it is best to try and get the tangles out but dont overbrush your hair...Brushing hair?
to brush your hair a few times a day i would say.

But make sure you use a good brush, not one that will pull your hair out and wreck your hair's condition.

Leaving it tangley isn't a good idea.
I use a wide tooth comb on my wet hair and then just brush it when needed. It seems to get too oily if I brush it too much, I guess it depends on what kind of hair you have.
Brushing is good because it spreads the oils through your hair.
    BRUSH LOTS, BUT NOT AGGRESSIVELY
people thinks it gross. but as for me. i dont brush my hair that much and its not a tangle mess. Brushing my hair makes it poofy, and i hate poofy. When i take a shower afterwards i dont need to brush.

    =]

but as for which ones better.. i have no clue
when i was little my mam used to tell me i had to brush my hair 100 times and makes it healthy, not sure if true but looked nice
Once in the morning and before you go to bed is enough. If you get a knot in your hair in the middle of the day or something brush it, but dont sit hugging your brush all day and brush it every 5 seconds or it will fall out.
    LESS!
It is actually best to COMB your hair, using a wide tooth comb. Brushing, especially if you brush your hair while it's wet, causes split ends. Getting a bottle of leave in conditioner is a good idea too. Just spray it on the ends after you wash your hair, then comb your hair out. (You can still use regular conditioner in the shower, too.) Pantene and various other brands have spray on, leave in conditioners. I use Pantene's and it works fine. If you get tangles when you're hair is dry, it's still better to use a wide tooth comb, but you can use a brush, just do it gently. There is no need to constantly brush your hair every chance you get, but there is no need to leave it a tangled mess either. Only comb/brush your hair when it needs it.
well, who wants tangley hair? brush it, but don't brush it so often that you have handfuls of hair in your hairbrush.
well brushing alot damages your hair. and leaving it tangly is not attractive. so brush it, but not alot.
i heard its better to brush! just not in the shower but defiantly brush because it helps the circulation in your head, best time is before going to bed!
put some sugar in water and pour it on
WEll I personally do it once a day only and at night like for 10secs. In the morning I brush it slowly w/out putting too much force. That keeps the hair healthy and soft. Thought yea I brush it smoothly w/time and the whole day it goes fine but at the end of the day I brush it smoothly again and tie up my hair. But I recommend you not to do it a lot cause I have asked a professional hair stylist and she said twice a day is just fine. Brushing it too much can lessen your hair and that isn't something u'll want! =0 HeHeHe
    i do not know

Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?

thick bristle brushes are meant to spread oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair.. these are outdated and should not be used often now. they were meant to be used in the old days when bathing was only done once every couple weeks. you can find more information on that all over the web.

most brushes you see nowadays are very comb-like, with sparse bristles made of plastic, these are mainly used to detangle thicker hair.

the thin black combs were in part developed so that men could carry then in their back pockets to fix their hair as needed, and modern wide-toothed combs are very good for combing out wet hair without damaging it. brushes should never ever be used on wet hair.

this site is worth looking at, it goes into depth on each brush and comb and their use.

http://www.mindbodyfocused.com/articles//a>Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?
brushing doesnt get most knats because it has more wide bristles so combing is really used to get out knats and brushing is used to keep hair untangledWhats the diference between combing and brushing hair?
With combing, you use a comb. When you brush hair, you use a hair brush.

    Brushing hair (African American)?

I am a little confused on whether brushing ';our'; hair is healthy or unhealthy. I am growing my hair out from a pixie cut, it almost reaches my shoulders. I have started going to a new stylist. She puts a lot of emphasis on brushing the hair. She says that I need to brush my hair eyery day to stimulate my scalp and hair growth. She suggested that I use a brush with kinda hard bristles so that it will stimulate my scalp. I haven't been doing it long enough to tell a difference in growth. Do you ladies brush? Why or why not? What kind of bristles does your brush have?

    ThanksBrushing hair (African American)?
Find another hairstylists...quickly. This woman will have you bald-head in a matter of days! Brushing hair actually breaks hair off, far worse than combing does. While stimulating the scalp is conducive to hair growth, brushing hair with HARD bristles can actually scrape and harm your scalp more than anything. Brush hair when necessary and ONLY when necessary. Use a brush with rounded bristles at the end. If you want to stimulate your scalp, massage it with a hot oil treatment.Brushing hair (African American)?
Listen to Carol M and Luminin16, she will have you bald headed in no time. Just take whatever oil you like and mix it with a stimulatin oil like peppermint or tea tree oil and massage your scalp with the balls of your fingers. http://www.growafrohairlong.com tells you everything you need to know about growing african american hair.
I don't usually brush my hair. I massage my scalp with my fingertips making circular and front to back movements. I comb my hair, and I make deep-conditioning treatments every week. Cheers

Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?

Whats the best way to clean/sanitize combs brushes, hair clips, etc..... Also my hair clips are made out of metal.Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?
    Cleaner--ShipShape

    Sanitizer--Barbicide

At hair supply stores.Clean combs brushes, hair clips, etc.?
rub a cotton ball dipped in alcohol on them. Brushes, if they're natural bristles, wash them in antibacterial soap, or even just regular shampoo.
Well, I've heard that you can boil them... But. I'm not sure. I think if you rinse it in warm soapy water it should sanitize pretty well.
    alchole
A container filled with Listerine, or alcohol or san-x any type of liquid cleaner for all the clips and combs hair pins etc... wash your brushes with your shampoo and warm water. If you have a lingerie bag dry them in the dryer. Next time you are at your hairdresser's if you notice most have a container that has just that and they will put the utensils in there after they have used them. You don't have to change the alcohol container until it gets visibly dirty.

    Stopped brushing hair?

I did not brush my hair often for about a month and wore it tied back since I have started brushing it and wearing it out I seem to be experiencing massive hair shedding would this just be a back log of hair that shed when i didnt brush itStopped brushing hair?
Yes. Your hair sheds each day. So if you lose say 10 hairs a day, (im just guessing any amount) and you dont brush your hair for a week, when you brush it you will loose 70 hair strands. Thats what my hair dresser said to my mum.Stopped brushing hair?
yea i guess so.. cuz i dont brush my hair either.. lol.
I guess so but why didn't you brush your hair?
yes. Everyone looses a certain amount of hair everyday. You should really brush it everyday to get rid of it. I some times have the same problem. On the weekends I leave my hair in a pony tail and I might not brush it until the next morning and I have a big mess. Especially when I wash it. If I had it up in a pony tail for a day or two. Even if I'm not going to wash it or do anything with it, I will take down the ponytail in the morning and in the evening to brush it to remove the fallen hair. Also as your hair gets longer you will notice it more, because since it is longer you think its more.

Please don't go for a month with out brushing it, it isn't a good thing. Brushing also stimulates the roots and scalp, causing good blood flow and new growth as well as releasing natural oils that help tame those frizzy.
I once got some braids done when I was on vacation, and when I took them out there was so much hair coming out. I freaked out, thinking my hair had been pulled out, but it was really just the hair that normally would have been shed but couldn't come out, and my hair was fine. My guess is that it is normal. Unless you continue to experience a lot of hair shedding for a while and you notice your hair is starting to feel thinner, I wouldn't worry.

how do I brush my hair so that it goes straight? or as straight as possible, I try to brush it down but it ends up going all weird and curling at the bottom.Brushing hair?
The best way to brush your hair without using straightners is to use your brush as you are drying your hair. this will keep your hair straight for ages. its always worked on mineBrushing hair?
well if its that long i put my hand behind my bkand brush from there to get the straight look if yours not that long get some one else to do it
get some straightenrs that what i did now i have great hair, before all my hair did was frizz
Get a straightening iron. And some Loreal Studio Hot Straight Straightening Cream. Can I brush your hair for you...?
If your hair is long enough flick it over so you are looking at the floor and blowdry it that way!!

Or section it and dry one section at a time!!
get the curls cut or buy hair straightening machines.
If your hair is curling up your bottom then your wearing underwear that is too tight for you, I'd recommend boxer shorts.
if you don't want to buy a hair straightener or buy fancy creams get it a little damp with water and put a dime size bit of lotion in the palm of your hand and then rub your hands together so its all over the inside of your hand and then start with the back of your hair on one side of your head and just smooth it through and work up to the top, and do it a few times on both sides. Never start with the top of your hair, it will make it look greasy. After that you can actually use a regular iron that you use to iron cloths with, just lay your hair on it and iron it.. don't hold it in one spot, do it just like you would a thin shirt, or you will burn your hair!
whichever way it curls at the bottom, dry it in the opposite direction, (opposite curl) and because it cant fight the curl, the reverse action actually straightens it.

    christ, did that make sense?
    You need ceramic straightners.
get a wrap. Go to a black hair salon and get a wrap. Your hair will be straight! :) Take it froma sista that does hair all day long!
    brushing aint goin 2 help!
skinhead is best save a fortune on everything
Dude i havent comed or brushed my hair in five years and its as straight as a board
    get some straightening irons....
Put straightening serum in it and continue to brush it as it dries, use straighteners, or grow your hair very long, I just had inches cut off my straight hair and now I have ringlets- I love them!
    embrace your curlyness
You need to blow dry it straight. Just brushing it won't do.

You could buy some Ceramic Straightening Irons , let it dry naturally and then straighten it ..

Make sure you condition your hair to stop the ends drying out.

Mine is Aussie. It's the best stuff in the universe because it includes Alo Vera....which makes you hair like a feather!

Don't worry about brushing your hair too much. I brush mine about 6 times a day and I have no problems at all! ( I think Aussie is the secret lol)
favorite shampoo is dove moisture renewal, fabulous texture. brushing too much is bad because of breakage, it's what leaves you with split ends. twice a day or so is fine, but be gentle, if you feel a tangle, don't just rip at it, brush a few inches from the ends, then a little higher and higher 'til you reaach your scalp
favorite's gotta be aussie, yea my hair is shiny, smooth, and feels soft! i brush my hair all the time, i hope it's ok! but i do know that the little tiny particles of ur hair are actually like fish scales and they face upwards. so when u brush ur hair down it's like rubbing fish scales the other way! eww sounds grose 2 think about it, but i still brush my hair alot, well when its snarly and down.
my favorite shampoo is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration and it makes my hair feel great. I never damage my hair (no blow drying, straightener, curling) and i always get compliments. i brush my hair about twice a day, sometimes 3 times, and it still keeps healthy
Yes it's safe to brush your hair. They recommend you do so you can bring the natural oils from your scalp down through your hair.
My favorite shampoo is loreal paris vive pro ';for normal to fine hair'; yes it leaves my hair soft, shiny %26amp; smooth! =]

    Nail polish brush hairs?

I cleaned my nails and made sure there was no nail polish on my nails, but everytime i polish them, I get these hairs from the brush, what can i do?Nail polish brush hairs?
is the nail polish old? sometimes the brushes will start loosing hairs after a few months.

the best thing you can do is to buy some good quality nail polish (opi, nails inc, loreal etc) and keep it in the fridge (this stops it going all thick and gloopy). if you do this you shouldnt have any more problems.

    hope this helps : )

    Brushing hair at night?

I read that it stimulates the oils in the hair or something and that it's good but I've also read that its bad, My dad told me to do and I want to know if it is good or bad and whyBrushing hair at night?
Honestly, i don't listen to whats considered 'good' or 'bad' when it comes to my hair. I do what works for me cuz honestly, everyone is different. I brush my hair whenever it looks like it needs it... simple as that!Brushing hair at night?
Well, I'm not sure about the oil thing, but brushing is good, you want to get rid of all the dead and loose hair that you've lost during the day. I always wash and brush before bed.
brushing your hair actually stimulates the cells, this way your hair will grow more and it feels good anyhow. Brushing isnt bad at all.
    Its good
STOP!!!! Brushing your hair will cause the hair to stretch and snap. Message your scalp with the balls of your fingers. This will help the blood to circulated which stimulates the hair follicles this will promote hair growth.
    It depends,just dont overbrush.
The more you brush your hair, the more breakage and split ends you're likely to see. Rather than extra brushing, if your hair is dry, skip washing it a couple of times a week. (You can still rinse it in the shower, and you can still condition it, just don't shampoo every day.) Also, you can try a deep conditioner once a week or so.
i say.. brush away whenever your hair looks like it needs to be brushed..... HOWEVER never brush your hair when its wet... i know everyone says its easier to brush and get the knots out when its wet but it actualy damaged ur hair more if you brush it while its wet. Also be sure to wash your brush at least once a week with hot water and even a little soap to get rid of all the extra oil that gets on it from your hair.
its actually not good to brush ur hair a lot but then again u do need to keep the knots out ((duh))
I wouldn't over-rush it. But try a boar bristle brush. It does evenly dstribute oil.

Brushing hair when it is wet? :S?

Heyyy... I know your not suppose to brush your hair when its wet, but how do you detangle it then, and put in a parting so it dries nicely?!

Would it be okey to use a wide tooth comb?

Thanks! xxxBrushing hair when it is wet? :S?
use a detangler and a wide tooted comb, as the person posted first and to get a good parting use a thing toothed comb to make it really good!

Hope this helps!Brushing hair when it is wet? :S?
if you put conditioner in your hair to make it soft i find you dont have to brush my hair when its wet but if i do i make sure i use a wide tooth comb to prevent my hair scretching and breaking also if you put serum at the end of my hair after ive brushed it when its wet it prevents split ends but yeh if your using a wide tooth comb on wet hair your doin the best for your hair :) x
i brush my hair when it is wet and it is still healthy. also, i don't have split ends or anything. i havnt even gotten a haircut in over a year. lol

don't brush it too much, but if you need to detangle or part it, go for it! it won't hurt it! :)
Yeah you should use a wide toothed comb to get the tangles out. If your hair is really knotty then use a detangler or some more conditioner when you wash it.

    =)
There's nothing wrong with brushing your hair when wet! It actually helps you go get all the tangles out, and when try you would have to use ur time.
I just comb my hair out in the shower when it has conditioner on :) my hairs thick and frizzy so if i comb it when its wet its goes POOOOFYY! lol xx
ya its fine to use a wide tooth comb just dnt brush it it damages ur hair

Brushing hair out of my eyes?

my male friend of a few years recently whilst in conversation with me, my friend and a couple of his friends i had only just met, was standing opposite me, and brushed my hair out of my eyes and carried on with the conversation. Does brushing hair while wet damage it?

yes it doesDoes brushing hair while wet damage it?
No and Yes. It depends how hard you're brushing. If your carefully it shouldn't be too much. But there could be more damage/breakage since it's wet and probably a little tangled. I would go a little more slowly but hair is still going to fall/break anyway but nothing drastic!

Hope I answered your question! :)Does brushing hair while wet damage it?
YES YES YES! IT KILLS YOUR HAIR! your hair is weaker when its wet and brushing it will break the stands which will lead to split ends, and nasty hair.

don't listen to that girl who said no, because it soooo does!

always use a pick on your hair after you wash it. pick out the tangles working from the ends of your hair to the top.
yes! if you use a regular brush. wet hair is weaker than dry, so the brush teeth pull at the knots until your hair falls out! (just a little sarcastic on that.) to brush your hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb!
Yes, because you get more breakage from the little knots being made while brushing your hair. You can use a wide tooth comb to comb your hair instead while your hair is wet, it won't damage it as much.
Yes! It creates split ends because you're combing through the hair when its most fragile(wet), and it tears through your strong hair strands. But if you use a wide toothed comb, it reduces the damage(just brush gently).
Everybody says it does, but I do it every night and I've noticed no damage. If you use a paddle brush it turns out really nicely when it drys.
it will not damage your hair

however it's much better for hair to use a comb.
Yes of course! It can break your hair, making it weak and fall out.
    I dont think so.
    no

Does brushing hair make it grow???? ?

no, and over brushing it can damage it more. you can take a multi vitamin, or even pre-natal vitamins (they will not affect your birth control any, they are simply vitamins) to help advance hair and nail growth/health.Does brushing hair make it grow???? ?
    old wive's tale.

brushing too much would just cause

breakage and damage which stop your hair

    from growing.

    tips:

    - use conditioner daily and shampoo 3-4 times weekly

    - use a deep conditioner

    - trim off split ends

    - use a leave in anti-split ends protector on the ends of your hair

    - brush in the conditioner in the shower

    - detangle knots still while the conditioner is in with a comb

    - rinse conditioner out with cold water

    - don't heat style excessively

    - drink water

    - use a hot oil treatment once a week

hair grows around 1/2 and inch a month.

so in one year, that's around 6 inches.
i can help to stimulate your scalp but it will grow at the same rate as everyone else.

    this is a myth really.

it duz keep your hair shiney, i really would suggest only to brush hair when its wet or it can damage hair and may effect it growing.

also take the supplement selenium and perfectil which promotes hair growth and nails too.
Yes and no. Brushing no. Combing yes. Using a large tooth comb will stimulate hair growth. Brushing is harder on the hair and tends to damage.

however if you want long hair here are things you can do to it:

    http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Hair-Gr/a>
Be logical really, when you brush your hair, strands are pulled and comes out. Like seriously people! You read one thing and all of a sudden it's what everyone believes.

It you want hair growth, massage scalp.
ha..No. Not true. Brushing your hair actually gives you split ends..Damages it more then anything.
no, it makes it greecey dont try it

    Brushing hair and hair loss?

For the past month when I have been brushing my hair the hair brush has been full of hairs the hair does not come out in clumps there just seems to be a LOT of fine hairs in the bruush is this normal?Brushing hair and hair loss?
If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, you may be beginning your annual Spring/Summer shedding, you and cats and dogs, etc.

If you're authentically worried, clear your brush and count the new-ly lost hairs daily. If you have longer hair 20-30 strands, normal *low* daily loss, will look like a *lot*.

Hair also grows faster in the Spring and Summer.

Again, if you're authentically worried, finger-comb your hair first, saving strands for counting and don't brush your scalp, just the ends while you firmly grasp areas of hair with the other hand, so you minimize tugging on the hair roots.Brushing hair and hair loss?
Yes. Most people lose 100-200 hairs per day, and most of that lands in the brush. Nothing to worry about. =)
hair loss is normal for people, your hair folical can probably grow around 20 more times after they lost thier first hair, so don't worry about it, if it become serious, you can go see a doctor and see what caused the hairloss and eliminate the source.

So hott! That's right. I spelled hot with 2T's!

Do you mean the hair that grows on your back? If so, gross, but Ha! Ha! Ha! That's funny. Try some nair. :)
do you mean .. back-combed hair .. or teased hair

i back comb my hair sometimes when im bored

I love that hairystyle because it is so cute!!
Ok. Don't even know what that is. But I'm thinking something from the 80s
    That's nasty

    better than brushed back hair
it looks cool on some people

    Um.....cool?

Brushing hair in shower, while conditioning...?

Why is it if one brushes their hair, while they have conditioner in it in the shower, that it seems to almost make it work or react. Whenever I do this, it gets a good lather and comes out amazingly soft... it it just because its actually m aking a lather?

I never get this result otherwise. Plus could it be healthy for your hair to do that? I know your not suppose to brush your hair when its wet.. but still. any inputs great!Brushing hair in shower, while conditioning...?
Combing distributed the conditoner evenly over all the hairs on your head while just slapping in on with your hands only gets it on the hair on top.Brushing hair in shower, while conditioning...?
I mean it's alright, you can get the tangles out and everything try a comb when in the shower because brushes may not feel like it but they can seriusly damage your hair... Other than that keep on showering!!
i do the same thing... but it really makes my hair soft and silky... and the conditioner coats every hair strand.... but i think it causes falling hair... dont really know.. but.. i dont care.... as long as i have shiny hair from this meThod!!
u shouldnt brush it you should comb

but w/e works for your hair is fine
Every time i am at home and in the shower i brush my hair with the conditioner and it comes out great, and if i shower somewhere other than home and there is no brush my hair comes out less then great. I don't know, but maybe it pulls out all the dead dry hair to make your good hair more luscious.
It helps it penetrate thru all your hair...I do my gf's hair this way all the time...';save water, shower with a friend'
Actually it does make your hair softer because when you comb or brush it with conditioner, it takes off the knots and when you rinse it its because it dosent have any knots thats what I think because I do that too!
Don't brush your hair whilst its wet it completly wrecks it, it breaks the hair so your left with hairs that go short and spikey and brittle. When i condition my hair it never makes a lather yet i don't seem to mind because it i leave it on for long enough it begins to work. Try using Vo5 of your hair really needs deep condictioning.

    Hope that helped you.
i do this too ive been brushing my hair while i condition it for a long time results are great! keep doing it pretty soon your hair will be nice and shiny it also helps dried hair if you blow dry straighten or curl your hair
hmmm... we're not suppose to brush our hair when it's wet?

    I didn't know that....
I do the same thing. It works good, eh? My hair is really curly and when I brush it good in the shower it comes out in like ringlets, but it never stays because I towel dry my hair because my hair dryer makes it dry and frizzy.
I believe it spreads oil around (which is good) and gets the conditioner through the hair, (also good) and it untangles.

But using a BRUSH can damage your hair, so use a wid e toothed comb.
if i was u i would use a comb, it still gives it good lather. and yes it is healthy for your hair. it makes it easie to handle= ]
I'm with Sun - use a wide toothed comb instead.
it spreads the conditioner in your hair.

if it works great for you then keep doing it but

dont use a brush use one of those wide tooth combs

using a brush can damage ur hair.
Okay well when i used to brush my hair in the shower with conditioner in it, all the conditioner would not c ome out because the brush pushed in too far towards my scalp hope i helped and you choose me as best answer!!!

    %26lt;3notorious
probably not a good idea. your hair may fall out and such. try brushing it with your fingers instead.
okay, that is what happens but it also rips outr your hair to brush it in the shower. Look at your brush after!
It is never good to brush hair while it is wet. You may want to try using a big tooth comb, that works much better.
It is bad to brush hair when whet because hair breaks easier when wet, if you feel you must try to get a wide toothed comb really wide toothed, or at least get one of those ';ouchless'; brushes with the really wide bristles so hair doesn't get caught or tangle as easily.... I think Conair makes them. Also try using a cheap plastic shower cap on your har after you put the condition in it, it makes it work better, then soap and shave your legs or whatever yo do in the shower, then take off the cap and rinse with cool water
  • jabbawockeez mask
  • What way is the right way of brushing hair?

well people have their own ways, which is kinda strange..

    so there's no right way..

but personally, i prefer to start at the ends, it makes it easier to untangle..

xxWhat way is the right way of brushing hair?
In order to keep your hair from breaking you should start from the ends and work your way up. When you shower put conditioner in your hair and comb it through then leave it for a few minutes. What way is the right way of brushing hair?
the right way is to start at the bottom to get the tangles from there first so as not to push tangles down on top of tangles. and not when its wet you stretch it out and weaken it,

Is brushing hair when wet a bad thing?

cuz i hurd it was but i still do it cuz i dont know what else to doIs brushing hair when wet a bad thing?
Yes, comb it instead. It prevents split ends.Is brushing hair when wet a bad thing?
brush or comb when wet is better, use conditioner to soften first best idea
Don't brush it. Gently comb it instead. If it's long comb from bottom up. If its short comb from top down.

    hope this helps %26lt;3
    I'm not sure.

    I don't think so.

But, you have to brush it when it's wet so you can get all the tangles out, and it won't be so tangled up later.

It helps to make it look shinier!
since hair is really weak when its wet it tends to break off easier so i wouldnt brush it
    yes
UM.... well where did you hear that aren't you suppose to brush your hair when it's wet???? Cause when I don't brush my hair when it's wet then it starts to tangle up
Towel dry it till it is damp. NEVER ring the water out of your hair, pat it. Ringing water out of your hair tears it up. Then, you can brush it starting at one section working from the bottom. Once the bottom is brushed, then you go up a little above that spot then brush down, then repeat going up a little closer to the scalp till that part is brushed. Then get another section and do the same thing. I'm making it sound a lot more than it really is. It's actually really quick and easy to do.

By doing this, you can brush out a little bit of the tangle at a time but it is much more gentle on your hair and it will be much easier to brush out than if you don't touch it and let it dry.

Tip: Make sure you use a good conditioner after you shampoo and your hair will detangle much easier. Makes a HUGE difference depending how well it conditions.

Does brushing hair makes them grow?

Brushing will cause growth by stimulating blood supply to the scalp. Will that result in growth? I don't know.Does brushing hair makes them grow?
no in fact brushing your hair will increase breakage thus making your hair shorter actuallyDoes brushing hair makes them grow?
i am a doctor and brushing your hair will help it grow just

dont brush it after a shower it will cause breakage

    comb it after a shower
yea it help my hair grow i brush it every night i give it one hundred strokes every night before bed and itis more mangable
not really...but it helps to create shine by distributing the natural oils in hair
Brushing your hair will bring the natural oils from the scalp through to the ends of your hair. It makes your hair healthier, but won't necessarily make it grow any faster.
sori but no all brushin does is make it neat but thaz all
No, or men would have done that long before Rograine
No, but plenty of Vitamins does!! Try that and see if it helps.
hell if im soppose to no
No, don't brush it TOO much it will give you split ends.
The only thing that will help your hair grow is to keep it healthy.
if you brush your hair it will spread the oils through it....if you have oily hair/roots i would suggest not brushing your hair more that maybe twice a day. if you have dry hair than yes brush your hair! i'm not sure about the growing part though! sorry!

Brushing hair when its wet, bad for you??

ok well i heard that ur not suppose to brush ur hair when its wet, and i have to because i have curly hair and if i wait untill its dry then i cant get curly and tangles out! So is there anything else that i can do?Brushing hair when its wet, bad for you??
just don't brush itBrushing hair when its wet, bad for you??
It isn't good to use a brush to brush your hair when it is wet, and a comb should be used. HOWEVER with curly hair I understand not being able to get through the hair with a normal comb. That is why I use and reccomend to you a wide toothed comb that way you get your tangles out and still aren't putting the harm of a brush on your hair.. They are inexpensive and come in all sorts of varieties.
Hair is most prone to tearing when it is wet.

Use a wide toothed comb when your hair is wet. Start at the bottom %26amp; work your way upwards to remove any tangles.
It is more prone to breakage when wet. Use a large wide tooth comb and gently comb out knots and tangles, but try not to pull on your hair. A little leave in conditioner/detangler will be helpful

Tips for all different type of Hairstyles

    http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-42eT_e8_b/a>
I know what you mean. I have short hair and it has a slight wave to it. So to make my hair less of a tangle I use a WIDE tooth comb. Make sure its wide, lol. And brush through it once.

    Don't over do it.

Never use a fine tooth comb, a brush etc

Your hair will be prone to split ends and damage.
Brushing your hair when its wet does something bad to it .. i know that . im not quite sure but i read it in a book.

And since you have curly hair you should never brush your hair with a brush ever . Even when its wet , just use fingers.

And for those tangles , use a spray that takes them out . And rub your fingers through , GONE!
Purchase a detangling spray. This will help when you are brushing your hair even if its dry. Wet or dry this is a good product. I use detangling spray, or detangling conditioner. Some conditioners actually contain detangling ingredients.
When hair is wet it is at its weakest point. So..when you brush it wet it causes it to break easily. I had a very hard time getting my hair untangled when it it dry also. What I have found that works is, use a alcohol free mousse after washing to help soften your hair. Or you could try a leave in conditioner...and if you just HAVE to comb it...get a large toothed comb which is best to use on a wet head =)

Does brushing hair more often help hair growth?

    Yes it does.

This is because it get's rid of the hair that falls out and untangle your hair. Brushing your hair also helps the blood flow to the roots, bringing nutrients to the hair follicles, and you'll get healthier hair, and your hair would grow faster.Does brushing hair more often help hair growth?
No offence but i get frustrated with people who think trimming, brushing, cutting, moisturising helps with hair growth.

We get hair-regrowth at our scalp..why? because it grows from our scalp not from the bottom. Only your diet can aid hair growth because hair is made under the skin.

Trimming and cutting is a myth..it only snips dead ends so they dont break and go shorter..they dont make it faster or better..

Consider buying a vitamin supplement ';Hair, Skin and Nails'; most vitamin brands sell this. Its your best bet..

~Naomi~Does brushing hair more often help hair growth?
no but it makes the apperance of oily hair.

making it look like you havent washed it in days.

    and thats disgusting.

brush it just like when it feels knotty and like in the morning after a shower and before bed and such.

    hope i helped(:
No, brushing your hair a lot actually damages your hair.

If you want your hair to grow more quickly, then try massaging your scalp for five minutes a day because that increases blood flow to your scalp which helps with hair growth. Best tip: be patient :)
nope. does absolutely nothing...it is a myth...

hair only grows a designated amount a month, there isn't anything that can be done to change that unfortunately...

More proof since others told you the wrong answer:

The only proven way to grow hair faster is pregnancy. There are things you could be doing that make your hair grow slower (like bad nutrition, vitamin deficiency, chemicals, sedentary lifestyle, etc), but people who are in generally good health will not increase the rate of growth outside of pregnancy. Anyone who tells you differently is lying or misinformed.
    Nope.

There are some shampoos though, that

strengthen your hair, which helps it grow,

    but brushing does nothing =0

    Hope I helped a bit =)

Does brushing hair a lot help it grow?

Erm, if you're black then brushing too much might cause your hair to break and then you'll have the opposite effect of what you're trying to acomplish. On average, hair grows 1/2 inch per month, or 6 inches per year. Some people's hair will grow slower and others will grow faster. Most people will probably fall within the average.

Your hair is most likely growing from the scalp. It's either not growing as fast as you want it to, or it's breaking off at the ends which is keeping you from attaining longer length. You'll either have to be patient as your hair grows. My hair grows within the average and over 6 months I have experienced 3 inchs of growth with no breakge, and, with keeping this up, I plan on having shoulder-length hair exactly one year to the date that I cut it to less than 1 inch.

Focus on length retention (keeping your hair from breaking off) and this will help your hair grow longer than it is now.

Does not brushing hair after shower make it wavy?

i have pin straight hair...like chinese hair...and i want to know if i just get out of the shower, part my hair, and dont brush through it...will it be wavy?Does not brushing hair after shower make it wavy?
No it will still be straightDoes not brushing hair after shower make it wavy?
My hair is pin straight too. Maybe if you put some mousse in it and comb it through you could then twirl it around your finger tight and gently take you finger out the twirled hair. Do this all around your head. You could try and dry it somewhat with a dryer/defuser. Good luck, it is worth a try. Maybe you could ask a hair dresser what type of product would be best for doing this...
no it doesn't,but you could try to add some leave in conditioner, and some muse and braid your hair. Then after your braids dry, unbraid your hair.....i think that thats the best you'll get.
don't think so, but if you take some butterfly clips and scrunch your hair up inside them then let it dry, it should come out wavy, you could apply some gel first.
    no, just tangled %26amp; snarled
i doubt it, but there are products that add a little wave to your hair when applied.

one that i've used is called Wet, i think or maybe Wett??? anyhoo, go to a hair store and they should have it.
Mouse and scrunch and let it air dry.
no. i havent brushed my hair in about 1 year, first cause it was short now cause im lazy and if i pull a skull cap on till it dries or atleast 30 mins it stays tht way so i save money on a brush thrifty nifty aye.lmao tru though
    no
Only if you already have wavy hair.
    NO SILLY
It won't be wavy but it won't be as straight as when you would comb it. Try twisting it and wraping a towel around your head. It takes a long time to dry this way (use a thin towel). Or you can try twisting your hair and putting it in claw clips, however many you need, or a few braids, or just curl with a curling iron.
No....you should towel dry it...add some mouse, and scrunch it in your hands. Blow dry it just a little too add some body to where you like it, then use a little hairspray.

Give that a try....hope it works!!
No it won't you'll probably have to get something like a jerry curl relaxer.

    Brushing hair while conditionin?

is it a bad idea to brush your hair after you have condished( just before you wash it out) and then to keep brushing it out while you wash it out?

does this cause more damage to the hair?

does it make the oil glands ';open up more';?Brushing hair while conditionin?
The only thing that makes the glands open up more is the temperature of the water. Cold water makes them constrict, hot water makes them open. Though most people suggest a warm water shower will help the most. Brushing it just gets all the gross tangles out that you would have to deal with after you towel dried your hair.Brushing hair while conditionin?
As long as you use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers, getting tangles out while the conditioner is still in your hair is very good for your hair. It prevents the breakage you would get if you just hopped out of the shower and started brushing and drying your hair.
nope brushing it actually helps get the conditoner more evenly through your hair!!!

no damage at all it actually helps!

oil will be spead once ur hair is dry and you brush it to much then you will be ditributing the oil through out.
It can if your hair tangles. You should only use a wide tooth comb and you should only start at the ends and work to the scalp.

I know because before I went natural I had a pretty lengthy locks and that is what I did.

There is no oil glands in your scalp. But it stimulates your hair follicles. Try a conditioner listed at the below address it works wonders on the scalp.
no such thing... never brush or comb hair while it's wet.

    sorry, simple as that.

oil glands don't do such things.. they happen naturally and mostly when you sleep....

    forget those myths.
i hope not cuz i do the same thing with a comb!! lol

Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?

One you use a comb and the other you use a brush!Whats the diference between combing and brushing hair?

Putting on make up and brushing hair in public do you think this is wrong

when I was young it just was not done but now they sit on buses and trains putting it all on was it just me that was brought up to believe you just did it in bedroom or bathroom in privatePutting on make up and brushing hair in public do you think this is wrong
Margaret - we were raised the same way - in the bedroom or the bathroom - - - besides brushing hair causes it to fly everywhere - - - very unhealthy. And NO LADY would apply her make up in public.

CJPutting on make up and brushing hair in public do you think this is wrong
I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If you are lucky enough to have the time to only apply make-up in privacy then you should be thankful. Some people have very busy lives looking after and getting children ready, preparing for the day, taking the children to school, getting their work done and getting to work. If they are that busy that they need to apply their make-up in the car or on the bus on the way to work/school then who am I to complain? I applaud these women for battling through. I know I wouldn't have the time to apply make-up in the morning.
This is hard to answer and there bound to be rebuffs. I would suggest the person get up a little earlier to finish their hygiene at home, where it's suppose to be done.

Being a driver for the county, formerly, I have seen everything. Ladies putting on finger nail paint, trying to spray their hair and drive. The best was a lady that was pulling into a Wal-Mart as I was pulling out.

She had a paper cup of coffee in one hand, a lit cigarette in one hand, she was speaking on the cell and trying to turn the steering wheel with the aid of her knees, she should have been in Ripley's.
I ride on buses full of college students all the time I have never seen that, but alot of the girls shower and shampoo their hair just before hopping on the bus and their hair is dripping wet, summer ,winter, spring and fall the bus smells like strawberries and vanilla lol, quite heavenly lol. I think they all use the same shampoos.

I did not wear makeup until I was about 38, except for coral lipstick which I did not put on in public. I have been driving to work on a very busy S. Calif. freeway and have seen women putting on their make up while driving.
I hate to see people putting on their make up in public places. I too was bought up to believe that some things are done in private and your make up was personal to you and therefore should be done in suitable places. I love women to wear make up, I think if it makes you look and feel better you should wear it with pride - but put it on behind closed doors!

    :)
I do not have a problem with it anywhere in public, except at 72 miles per hour down the interstate in rush hour traffic...I have seen ladies driving in the passing lane, steering with their knees, both hands putting on makeup, and face to the mirror...Men are just as bad, as a man passed me on I-40 Eastbound, reading the newspaper...Do in public what you have to do, but be safe about it....
Yes is is wrong and simply bad etiquette .....HOWEVER.........When I or you see somebody do it, you instantly say look at her with her bad manners....but.....do you dwell on it ...no you think about it for about 30 seconds and then it goes completely out of your mind and it does not ruin the night. With this simple mind blowing experiment of what you actually remember, at the age of 48 years I now do it in public knowing full well that within 1 minute people just forget and get on with their night out. 1Minute is quicker that the 10 minutes it takes you to go to a cloakroom to brush hair etc simple!!!
Absolutely wrong. You do it in private before you leave the house.

When I was at school (1960s) we were hauled over the coals if we had been spotted AT WEEKENDS eating sweets in the street, and the girls got exactly the same treatment if they were seen wearing trousers. What you've put in your question is still inexcusable.
I don't really see any harm in it in this day and age of rushing around. That is providing stray hair is not being brushed on the clothes of others. Also that it is not causing any danger to the person or others. I mention this after some time ago watching a TV programme which amazingly showed females driving with one hand and applying make up in their car mirror.
I'm 27 and I would never brush my hair or put make up on in public. I don't understand why women do it on public transport. If you don't have time at home get up 10 minutes earlier!

I don't think its a question of age and just being young people I think its more a questions of having no manners
Of course you do that kind of thing in private, its common as muck to do it in public, some girls seem to think its ok, but you should always keep a bit of mystery about you, no wonder men have no respect for women these days.

These actions may not be ';wrong'; but they are in very poor taste. It shows a lack of class and breeding. But then, so does talking on a cell phone in public, but that doesn't seem to bother the boors doing the talking...
They do many things these days that we never did in public. We didn't used to eat in the street either and certainly didn't kiss and cuddle. I think it just indicates the lack of respect for others that exists in today's society.
Not only is it not good etiquette to put on make up in public but its also unhygienic to brush your hair in public. I really hate to see people driving cars and doing this rather than paying attention to the road.
Yes putting on make-up and brushing your hair in public is wrong. You should only do those things in a restroom or the privacy of ur own home. Some people may find it offensive depending on were you are.
idk...i agree with the hair...but when you get up 5 in the morning and have to rush to school...and yuo have a 3 hour commute..and the only time you have for makeup is the train...i dont think their is anything wrong with it...
I don't do my make up but I do brush my hair in public. It gets soo frizzy and messed up after the wind blows or cars go by that I have to do it. Otherwise I would look like a mad woman.
Well I am 35..not old and not young and I have always thought it a horrible habit...especially the hair brushing! I was taught to never do those things in public, nor to eat whilst in the street.
I was brought up the same. I never comb my hair in public, always in the bathroom, same as make up.
It's quite rude, yes. If someone doesn't have enough time to get ready before they leave the house, they need to get up 10 minutes earlier.
Not wrong necessarily but certainly tacky. No one has any shame or decorum these days. It's sad.
That's why they have mirrors in the bathroom. I really don't care to watch folks groom themselves in public.
I think it's very rude. That should be done in private and not for all to see. I agree with you girl.
    That's just disgusting.
yes do it in private is correct .. We were brought up rather better than a lot of today's people
As long as they're not doing it in a car. I've seen women curling their hair with curling irons while they drive!
Yes. I was taught it was bad manners, and looked trashy.
it makes u look quite vain, i only put lip gloss on in public
