a few hours after getting my hair permed, i brushed it (not too hard) to untangle some of the curls and i'm worried that it will undo the perm. is it possible or will the curls bounce back after i wash it? and how long should i wait to perm my hair? some people say 24 hours and some people say up to 3 days!!
thank you!Is it ok to brush hair that has recently been permed?
Old wives tales. The perm will stick no matter what.Is it ok to brush hair that has recently been permed?
Your permanent wave is permanent, once the bonds are broken ( with the first solution) and then hardened around the rods ( with the second solution) your hair structure is permanently changed. The condition of your hair determines how that change will last. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and a spray leave-in conditioner before any product. It will not weigh your hair down. You should wash 24 hours after, 3 days was the suggested time for products in the 80';s. Once your hair has air oxidized, meaning reset the hydrogen bond by drying completely, its a done deal. Until it grows out and gets cut off.
Hi, when you perm your hair you should never use a brush cause it will break off the hair you should always use a wide tooth comb or pick on hair. Curly hair is very dry so it need moisture all the time and use a leave-in-conditioner to keep the curls moist and you can wash your hair after 24 hrs. shampoos and conditioners for curly hair plus a leave-in conditioner and wide tooth comb or pick air dry and fluff with fingers blow dry always use a diffuser on dryer this drys the hair gently and stops the frizz and once again use your fingers to arrange the curls and depending how fast your hair grows will depend on when you should get other perm.
It wont wreck the perm to brush it, but you may just want to use a pick for a few day, and a comb to de-tangle when your hair is wet. Dont shampoo your hair for about 3 days after perming, but be sure to condition your hair! If you dont condition it your hair will be very ery dry, and it will look horrible. Good Luck, and Enjoy your perm.

Can you do Round Brush Hair Techniques without a round brush?
I just got my hair cut and want to show it off at a party today, but I lost my round brush! Help!!!Can you do Round Brush Hair Techniques without a round brush?
it really hard to do. If you have a flat iron kind of twist it at the end and you can get a flip at the end of you hair. Can you do Round Brush Hair Techniques without a round brush?
Do you have a paddle brush? If so then blow it out using a paddle brush and curling your hair under with it. When it is dry run a flat iron through it to smooth it out and flip your wrist under (or over) depending on the style you want. Flatirons work great for curling hair too!

How long can head lice stay alive on my pillow, brush, hair bands... etc?
I am just curious about this. I've been wondering about this for a while. How long can head lice stay alive on my pillow, brush, hair bands... etc?
When I got head lice. I put my hair brushes and things like that I used in my hair in very hot water for a while and stuffed animals go in trash bags for 2 to 3 weeks. Make sure you get all the air out of bags before closing them. Wash the pillows a couple of times. Do lice shampoo and also have someone go through your hair and pick out all the eggs in there. the most common place to find eggs on your head is the back of your neck and behide your ears. because it get moist there. But, still go through every piece of hair. in sections. It sucks....How long can head lice stay alive on my pillow, brush, hair bands... etc?
dont they keep reproducing??
the cycle continues
thats what happened to me and i had to get new pillows
;)
Their eggs can stay dormant for about a month or more. Lice themselves cannot live very long if they aren't actually on you.

Are there businesses that just brush hair to relax people?
Does it require a hair license? Are there businesses that just brush hair to relax people?
I've never heard of such a thing, but it sure sounds nice! There's something very soothing about hair brushing and scalp massage.
Usually you need some kind of licence when touching people for money is involved. Look into beauty school for ';esthetician'; training- it's usually less rigorous than hair/barber training.

What's the best way to brush hair to prevent split ends.?
I don't use conditioners or any chemicals. I wash it every two days. It's sort of long and I want it longer. I cut off the split ends when I see them (by myself).
It takes me forever to brush it and i think it is breaking the hair....What's the best way to brush hair to prevent split ends.?
a hot oil treatment is the BEST thing to do. but my bff has serious split ends and she used a hot oil treatment and her hair looks fonominal. What's the best way to brush hair to prevent split ends.?
First of all, conditioners help prevent split ends. It's not bad for hair, it is actually really good for hair. Chemicals on the other hand, it's good for you to be avoiding. Also, most split ends are very hard to see, if you can see them at all. My hair was getting really tangled at the ends for a while, but I didn't see any split ends. I even asked my family and friends and they didn't notice anything. As soon as I got my hair cut it felt so much healthier. So even if you don't SEE any split ends, you should trim your hair at least every six months.
You should use a wide tooth comb and gently brush out the knots after the shower. Leave in conditioner will also help to protect the hair from breaking.
Here you go!

I also recommend that you use a conditioner every time you shampoo because shampoo's dry out your hair giving it split ends, as well as incorrect brushing. Here another link on how to brush hair:

Conditioner's moisturize your hair! :)
No you should go to a salon because they use special kind of scissors and stuff and they know probably more than you do about cutting off those split ends so I say go about every couple of months to get your ends trimmed. Using conditioner is actually great for your hair, so you should start using it and washing your hair too often will cause breakage!!!
Shannon R has the right idea...NEVER pull your hair! Purchase a good conditioner or detangler..You really can't afford NOT to with long hair and expect it to be healthy... Right - with a thick pick or wide toothed comb start at the bottom as Shannon says after apply the datangler and you will notice there will be no major pull on the hair.. a little lengthy ( but shouldn't be bad with the detangler/conditoner) but 'pulling' the hair 'breaks' it.....
why don't you use conditioners...that's crazy...that's why your hair is breaking...and brushing actually damages hair...if u still against conditioning your hair..when you get out of the shower and your going to brush your hair...start from the bottom up, because it will cause less tears in the hair meaning less damage...but good luck..
brush with a boar hair bristle brush that has metal pieces in it too, but not when it is wet
dont straighten
most important- ALWAYS USE A COMB!! never rip through hair with a comb or brush, alays work slowly
never brush hair when it is wet, only use combs
good luck!

What is the right way to comb/brush hair?
I have long layered straight to wavy hair and kind of thin, I don't want to cause any breakage because it creates frizz. So what is the right way? What is the right way to comb/brush hair?
Only comb with a wide toothed comb when hair is wet, and dont brush, according to Glamour, it stresses the hair. What is the right way to comb/brush hair?
start at the top of your head, then brush it down! simple as one two three
mason pearson hairbrush.
they are expensive.
but they are the best...they help dristribute the natural oils from your scalp along the length of your hair.
lets see..... start at the top and than go down.....at the top..down....at the top...down....wow im a genius!!
After you towel dry your hair (after washing), use a paddle brush to untangle it. The bristles are far apart and made of plastic so they don't snag or break your hair. To de-frizz your hair, rub a dime-size drop of shine serum through your hair while it's damp. Then, let it air-dry while you sleep. This will help smooth your hair.
it's cool if you put leave in conditioner while it's wet so that it can smooth out your hair an ensure shine and lessen frize and then with a wide tooth comb comb it from root to tip. don't brush your hair w/ a regular brush when it's wet..it can cause big time breakage.
use a thin comb when your hair is wet and then dry. : )

Stylests sugguest to brush hair before getting in the shower?
well if you scrunch your hair with gel which stiffens your hair, what do you do when you want to shampoo it 2 days later? because it's hard and you'd basically be pulling your hair out .. help ?Stylests sugguest to brush hair before getting in the shower?
Hi, I am a hair stylists and I never heard of that, But I do brush my hair before taking a shower when I dont have alot of gel or hairspray in it. The best thing to do is use enough conditioner so its easy to brush after you get out of the shower. ok.Stylests sugguest to brush hair before getting in the shower?
If it's too hard to get a brush through, try a comb. You can shower without brusing your hair. And while your hair is damp use a detangler spray and comb out. DO NOT USE A BRUSH ON WET HAIR. It damages your hair, use a comb.
I think that its best to get your hair a little wet and then brush it out and then take a shower but, if you don't want to have to get out of the shower before you get to put the shampoo in, I would totally brush my hair after the shower, thats what I do, cause my hairs always tangly
No, don't brush your hair before you shower. It is bad for your hair. It gives you split ends, and it doesn't make your hair grow faster. Just wash.
